Ruby A. Mitchell: 1908-2004

Ruby A. Mitchell of Greeley, died Dec. 8, 2004, at the Kenton Manor nursing home. She was 96.

Ruby was born Oct. 19, 1908, on a ranch near Oak Creek, to Nelson J. and Sadie E. (James) Dunckley.

Ruby married Richard D. Mitchell Dec. 19, 1931, at the Hayden Congregational Church parsonage in Hayden. She attended schools in Dunckley and Hayden. She was the last member of her generation in that family.



Ruby is survived by her nieces Lois Monroe of Greeley and Audrey Gent of Craig; nephews Bob Robinson Jr. of Hayden and John Sellers of Littleton; several grandnieces and grandnephews; and several great-grandnieces and great- grand nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.



Services were Dec. 11, 2004, at Grant Mortuary Chapel with Lois Monroe officiating. The organist was Anne Carr and the soloist was Wanda Brown. The selection was “Beyond The Sunset.”

Pallbearers were Marvin Mann, Dean Gent, Bobby Robinson Jr., Dallas Robinson, and John Sellers.

Honorary pallbearers were, “All Ruby’s Many Friends.” Interment was at Hayden Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Weld County Humane Society in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Ave., Evans, CO 80620.
