Ron Heinen: Darrell Snow was a friend’s friend

I’m Ron Heinen, formally Darrell’s employer in Eagle County.

All the accolades that everyone has laid upon Darrell are so right on as to his humor and willingness to tackle anything with his head up that I felt I had to agree formally in a letter to the newspaper.

Derrell was all those things and more. He worked for me for nine years, and we had a close friendship including traveling to southern Baja California to help me clear a lot I bought down here.

We were here for a month and had a ball. I live down here most of the year now and think of him often. I always thought I was going to call him one day and now it’s too late. What a shame. He was a friend’s friend that you could count on.

I’m glad he touched so many people in the way he did in that he was as genuine as they come.

Joanne, please except my condolences and to all his friends in the Craig area know he was my friend too.
