Rodeo team sees freshman place at Colorado Springs

The Moffat County rodeo team competed in the Black Forest Club rodeo in Colorado Springs on Saturday and Sunday. The team’s performance included a first-time placing by freshman Stevie Brumback, who finished 10th in pole bending Sunday, and a double-placing by roping team Clay Foulk and Brandon Whitaker, seventh on Saturday and sixth on Sunday.

Other top finishers for the Moffat County team were: Saturday — Tia Brannan, fourth in breakaway, eighth in pole bending and ninth in goat trying; Foulk, eighth in roping; Sunday; Kendel Fawcett, seventh in barrel racing and eighth in breakaway roping; Becky White, ninth in poles; Brannan, fifth in breakaway.

The season standings for individual events weren’t updated with this weekend’s results, but, going into the weekend, White was in fourth place in pole bending, and Fawcett was right behind her in fifth.

Brannan was ranked sixth in goat tying. The overall point standings were updated after the rodeo in Colorado Springs with White in ninth, Fawcett in 12th and Brannan on 14th overall.
