Reader comes from Nashville to Craig

After spending her whole life in Nashville, Tenn., Karon Robinson thought it was time for a change.

“Midlife crisis maybe?” she said. “I just wanted to do something fun and exciting.”

Robinson, who works for FedEx, moved to Craig two years ago.

While she said she didn’t like the weather at first, the people in the community quickly changed her view.

“I decided I can put up with the snow because the people are great,” she said. “They make you feel at home. Everyone smiles and speaks to you. It’s great.”

Robinson said her favorite parts of Craig are the low number of crimes and the little traffic compared to Nashville.

Robinson was transferred to Steamboat Springs, and she said she enjoys her job at FedEx.

“I love my job,” she said despite working 50 hours a week. “I just love my customers, I will do anything for them.”

Robinson and her husband live in Hayden, but she said it is not because they don’t like Craig.

“Since he works in Craig and I work in Steamboat, we meet in the middle,” she said.

In her free time, Robinson enjoys camping and riding her four-wheelers.

She is also excited to experience another part of Craig’s outdoor experience.

“My husband is going to take me hunting next month,” she said.

Robinson said she is unsure what the future might hold for her and her husband, but she does know she wants to stay in the area for a while.

“We’re definitely going to stay here for a few years,” she said.
