Pregnancy Center seeking donations
Baby Bottle Fundraiser runs through Father’s Day
There’s still time to contribute to a cause that will nourish the lives of many.
Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center’s Baby Bottle Fundraiser will continue through June 15. Those participating in the effort, which began Mother’s Day and runs through Father’s Day, can place donated funds within baby bottles available either through local churches or at the YVPC office at 25 W. Victory Way.

The money can come in any number of ways — coins, bills, checks — and all of it will help, Pregnancy Center Executive Director Katie Grobe said.
The Baby Bottle Fundraiser, which has brought in as much as $4,200 since Grobe has headed the nonprofit organization, assists YVPC’s clientele primarily through bankrolling the Earn While You Learn program. It enables expectant parents to take classes on dozens of subjects they might encounter with a new baby on the way, with their course credit counting toward the purchase of numerous supplies for their child.
“So far this year, we’ve already had people buy car seats and a lot of diapers, and some people are saving up for a crib,” Grobe said.
There’s a new component to this year’s fundraiser, with a small competition between the churches involved to see which of them can total the most.
Another money-making project is also in the works for YVPC, a walkathon taking place from the end of June to the end of July, but first things first, as those with the group plan to collect and tally the amounts from the baby bottles next week.
Grobe said the goal for this year’s event is $3,500.
“Or more, more is always good,” she said.
