CRAIG — A Thursday evening crash at the intersection of West Victory Way/U.S. Highway 40 West and Mack/Finley Lane resulted in front-end damage to a pickup truck and injuries to one driver.
Craig resident Andy Peroulis, 89, was the driver and sole occupant of a Ford F-150 that was westbound on West Victory Way and apparently failed to stop at the intersection with Mack/Finley Lane. Eliza Duran, 39, also of Craig, was driving a Nissan Infiniti southbound on Finley Lane when the two vehicles collided. There were two passengers in Duran’s vehicle.
All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts. While the cause of the crash was not available, Craig Police Chief Jerry DeLong said neither speed nor drugs or alcohol were considered factors. He said both drivers were issued citations for traffic violations.
The crash, which occurred just before 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, necessitated temporary closure of the south lane and slowed traffic in the area.
One of the drivers suffered minor injuries and was transported to The Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Craig Police Department, Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, and Memorial Regional Health Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. First responders also called Craig Fire Rescue to assist.
