Open board seats at Moffat County School District
Dear Editor and Moffat County Community:
In this very challenging era for public schools, in Colorado and across the nation, highly effective governing is needed as never before. Opportunities for community leaders to join the Moffat County School District governing team are ample. The upcoming election presents a valuable and timely invitation to interested individuals, who wish to join the Moffat County School District governing team.
At this election three directors will be elected representing districts two, four and six for a term in office of four years and two directors will be elected representing districts five and seven for a term in office of two years. To be qualified, a candidate must be a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the director district, which will be represented.
We believe our community is at an exciting and challenging crossroad, as we are faced with continuing finance trials, both in Moffat County and across Colorado. However, as has been our experience in the recent past, with challenges come equal measures of opportunities. We encourage members of the community, who possess the requisite governing skills to consider running for these open seats.
Please read the official notice in today’s newspaper and, if you qualify, consider becoming a candidate for a seat on the Moffat County School Board of Education.
