Eleborio Lee Escobar, 47, of Craig, was booked into Moffat County Jail on a harassment warrant.
Sunday, Feb. 1
Layne Howard, 25, of Vanderwagen, New Mexico, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving a motor vehicle when privilege to drive/license was restrained for express consent, careless driving and speeding. Howard was stopped for speeding, but he had also struck another vehicle pulling out of the west Kum and Go parking lot. The vehicle that he struck pulled up in front of him after Howard was pulled over. One officer conducted a traffic accident investigation with the driver of the other vehicle while another officer evaluated Howard. “During my initial contact with Howard, I noticed that his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot and watery in appearance,” the Craig Police Department affidavit reads. “His eyelids were droopy.” Howard denied drinking alcohol, refused roadside evaluation and insisted he was being set up. After being placed under arrest, Howard began to hit his head against the inside of the patrol car, and as a result of his “disruptive behavior” was booked into Moffat County Jail.
Monday, Feb. 2
Brandon Allen Martin, 31, of Craig was arrested on one charge of driving under the influence.

Friday, Jan. 30
At 8:18 a.m., in the 500 block of Yampa Avenue, a business owner reported damage to rear door. The owner of the building permits a band to practice in the building, and they will fix the door.
At 11:41 p.m., in the 300 block of South Highway 13, a male party received summons for disorderly conduct because he pushed another male.
At 11:44 p.m., in the 1300 block of West Victory Way, officers took a report for a theft of a wallet.
Saturday, Jan. 31
At 2:22 a.m., in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street, officers took report of a suspicious person.
At 7:32 a.m., at t Rose and Seventh Streets, a two-vehicle accident occurred. One driver was cited for failure to yield.
At 9:59 a.m., in the 300 block of Colorado Street, code enforcement red tagged two vehicles for snow removal.
At 4:53 p.m., at 700 Hospital Loop officers took an animal complaint. Two juveniles reported a puppy bit them.
At 6:13 p.m., at Industrial and Stout Streets, a non-injury accident occurred, and one male was issued summons for careless driving.
At 9:25 p.m., in the 1300 block of West Victory Way, one male was involved in a one-vehicle accident. An officer later arrested a male for driving under the influence. He was booked into Moffat County Jail.
Monday, Feb. 2
In the 300 block of Highway 13, officers took report of a gun stolen from a vehicle. The gun was entered as a stolen weapon into the National Crime Information Center database as well as the Colorado Crime Information Center database.
At 10th Street and Lecuyer Drive, officers took report of a runaway juvenile.
In the 800 block of Green Street, officers responded to a report of domestic violence. One female was arrested and booked into Moffat County Jail.

With Saturday bringing with it a new team record, a competition that nearly didn’t happen, and a bet with some slippery stakes, never let it be said that Moffat County High School track and field athletes don’t make their season exciting right up until the very end.
