1979-1999
Ryan R. Empson of Craig, Colo., died Oct. 28, 1999, in Rural Rio Blanco County along Colorado Highway 13. He was 20.
On Aug. 7, 1979, in Altona, Manitoba, Canada, he was born the son of Ronald and Maxine (Beck) Empson. He was raised in Lancaster, Minn.; Fruita, Colo.; Meeker, Colo.; and Hayden, Colo., where he attended school. He moved to Craig with his family and was living in Craig at the time of his death. He was employed as a truck driver for Jack Paulson Trucking.
Empson is survived by his parents; sisters, Lisa Empson and Toni Lyons of Craig; and grandparents, Glen and Sophie Beck of Lancaster, Minn.
Services were held Nov. 3, 1999, at Hayden Congregational Church. Pallbearers were Jake Gray, Olie Kenward, Jessie Taylor, Troy Flannery, Nate Hall and Tony Sharp.
Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund in memory of Ryan Empson for truck driving school in care of Bank of Colorado.
