Obituary: Patricia “Pat” Ann Neptune
June 10, 1935- May 1, 2019
Longtime resident, Pat Neptune, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Craig, CO. Pat was born to Grant and Alma Fleck in Youngstown, OH, on June 10, 1935. At the age of 10, the family moved to the “Gem of the Adirondacks”, Star Lake, NY. Following high school graduation, Pat attended Penn State University and received a BA in Sociology. Pat then became a United Airlines Stewardess. Pat met Gary Neptune on a flight in August of 1959 and they were married in Star Lake, NY, six short weeks later. They celebrated 38 years of marriage until Gary’s passing, February 16, 1997. The family moved to Craig in 1966 where they raised their five children and Gary began his 31 year ministry at First Congregational Church UCC. Pat was an active church member; she enjoyed singing in the choir, Congo Club, Church Bazaar and Christmas Cantatas. Her additional activities included golf, sewing, knitting, PEO and attending sporting events. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Moffat County School District over the span of four decades. Pat was a woman who made friends easily and won the hearts of anyone she met, including caregivers. Everyone she ever knew loved her and looked forward to spending time with her. She was positive about everything and always found the best in people and any situation. Her greatest sources of pride were her children and family. Pat was a combination of many amazing positive traits. The best way to summarize who she was is Unconditional Love. Her children were showered with Love. Pat was also the most humble and kind person any of us knew. Her children were raised with an enormous amount of trust, compassion and patience. Pat is survived by her Brother, Don Fleck of Paris, OH. Her five loving children and their spouses; Brad (Brenda) Neptune, Susan (Billy) Nicholson, Grant (Gina) Neptune, Julie (Ron) Kopchik and Blaine (Crystal) Neptune. Her nine loving grandchildren; Braden (Lauren), Cameron and Kelsey Neptune, Amber and Heather Nicholson, Kassidy and Karly Neptune and Grayson and Gentry Neptune. Also, great granddaughter, Claire Neptune, who said that Mom will be “A Beautiful glowing Angel”, and new brother, Jayce Neptune. Mom was preceded in Eternal Life by her Husband Reverend Gary J Neptune and her Mother and Father Alma and Grant Fleck. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Congregational Church UCC, Craig, CO, on May 18, 2019 at 11 AM with a Reception to follow. Memorial Contributions can be made in Memory of Pat Neptune to the First Congregational Church UCC or the Star Lake Protective Association in Care of Grant Mortuary.
