George L. Dixon
George L. Dixon of Craig, Colo., died Oct. 23, 1999, at Palisade Living Center. He was 92.
On Aug. 20, 1907, near Chandler, Okla., he was born the son of Frank and Carrie (Overman) Dixon.
On Oct. 11, 1936, in Sharon Springs, Kan., he married Mary Elizabeth Barton. They lived in Hayden, Colo., before moving to Craig in 1945. Dixon served as Moffat County treasurer for eight years.
Dixon is survived by his wife; daughter, Carol (Bill) McCurdy of Crowley, Colo.; son, George (Kathy) Dixon of Longmont, Colo.; grandchildren, Tom (Karena) McCurdy, Vickie (Kevin) Hall, Jackie McCurdy, Robin (Patricia) Dixon, Scott Dixon and Carrie Dixon; and great-grandchildren, Chance, Payton and Keiden Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert; and sister, Blanche Kaucher.
Services were held Oct. 28, 1999, at First Christian Church in Craig. Pallbearers were: Bill McCurdy, George Dixon, Tom McCurdy, Robin Dixon, Kevin Hall and Scott Dixon.
Interment was at Craig Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elks Laradon Hall or Museum of Northwest Colorado in care of Grant Mortuary.
