Floyd Jessie Robbins
Floyd Jessie Robbins died Dec. 23, 1999, at his home in Vernal, Utah. He was 93.
On Dec. 8, 1906, in Vernal he was born the son of Thomas E. and Sarah Eleanor (Slaugh) Robbins.
On April 5, 1928, in Vernal he married LaVone Boren. On Sept. 4, 1953, their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple.
He worked as a rancher, living in Meeker, Colo., and Vernal, Utah.
Robbins is survived by his wife; children, Floyd Gary and wife, Uldene, of Vernal, Veyon and husband, Vern Wagner, of Meeker and Jean Leatham of Logan, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Opal Massey; his parents; brothers, George, Tom, John and Eldon; sisters Hazel Atwood, Ruby Nelson, Maybell Chivers, Della Chivers, Merle Eaton, Violet Gardiner, Geneva Pullman, Horace and Margaret Ann.
Services were held Dec. 28, 1999, at the Seventh Ward Chapel in Vernal. Interment was at Vernal Memorial Park.
Moffat County High School is on the lookout for a new head coach for the Bulldog wrestling program after this week.
