Local couple helps Humane Society

Larry and Sharon Pletcher have chosen the Humane Society of Moffat County to be the recipient of donations from their online fundraiser called Giving Profits.

The Pletchers, of Craig, sell Shaklee products. They have chosen to give proceeds from the business to the Humane Society of Moffat County.

Shoppers who buy products through the Giving Profits Web site can designate 33 percent of their purchases for donations to the society.

“What we’re hoping people will understand is that they’re buying products they already use,” Sharon said. “You’re spending money, but you’re getting something you would buy anyway.”

Shaklee offers personal care, beauty, home-care products and nutrition items online and through catalogs.

The Pletchers sell the items and recently decided to give their proceeds to the Humane Society.

“It’s easy for us support the Humane Society because it’s a group we agree with so much,” Sharon said.

Giving Profits is a growing source of revenue for nonprofit organizations.
