Man cited after accident Monday

Police cited a Craig man Monday morning after a car accident at Seventh and Rose streets.

Barry Bartee, 41, of Craig, was driving a pickup south on Rose Street at about 7 a.m. when he ran into a car traveling west on Seventh, Craig police Officer Dale Secules said.

Bartee tried to stop at a stop sign but slid through the intersection, Secules said.

There was sand on the pavement, and Bartee was driving too fast, Secules said.

Police cited Bartee for driving too fast for the conditions, Secules said.

The driver of the car, Guy Casey, 52, of Craig, suffered minor injuries, and emergency responders treated him on the scene, Secules said.

Police did not cite Casey, Secules said.

The car sustained severe damage and the pickup truck sustained minor damage, Secules said.

Both vehicles are probably salvageable, he said.
