News Briefs: Daily Press announces next ‘Coffee and a Newspaper’
You are invited to come and talk with publisher Renee Campbell and editor Thomas Martinez about the newspaper at the next “Coffee and a Newspaper” from 7-7:50 a.m. Aug. 2 in the conference room at The Memorial Hospital in Craig.
Special guest speaker this month will be Moffat County High School Athletic Director Rich Houghton, who will speak about the upcoming high school sports season.

Craig Chamber’s annual mixer
The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite you and your staff to their annual business after-hours mixer. This mixer will feature several member restaurants who will be serving a variety of foods to our guests. It’s a great opportunity to give all of your taste buds a treat.
The event will be from 5 -7 p.m. Thursday at the Craig Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way.

VizABILITIES group sets next meeting
The VizABILITIES group will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 in the first floor conference room at CNCC Bell tower building, 50 College Drive in Craig. Topics will be The radio/telephone Reading Service, and the use of colored glasses to enhance and protect eyesight.

Newspaper honors birthdays — anyone from ages 0 to 101
Do you have loved ones you’d like to wish a Happy Birthday to publicly? Send them birthday wishes through the newspaper.
“We would like to honor your friend/family members by celebrating their special day dedicated only to them,” said Daily Press Publisher Renee Campbell. “We hope this will be a fun new addition in the Craig Daily Press and to our community.”

Wellness Wednesday held weekly for older adults
Wellness Wednesday is a program for older adults with activities, including fitness classes, wellness checks with a nurse, foot care, lunch and guest speakers.
The program, hosted by Northwest Colorado Health’s Aging Well program, is held every Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School Street. There is a $3 suggested donation for fitness classes and senior wellness checks. Foot care is $20 and an appointment is required. Lunch is $3.
Donations and fees help ensure this program continues, but no one is turned away from activities due to inability to pay.
