Mr. Unglaub: Former teacher thanks high school students

To the editor:

As I close another small chapter of my life, I wanted to make certain to thank the students of Moffat County High School who have made my (brief) stay in Craig a memorable one.

Although I only came in contact with a small portion of students, namely those students in the business program, DECA and Knowledge Bowl, I felt welcome and appreciated by so many more. As teachers, we are blessed to come in contact with kids of all ages, and, though they express appreciation toward us for being their “teacher,” “mentor,” “adviser” or “friendly ear,” it is we who are just as appreciative.

There is no other profession that enables adults to actually reach the younger generation and at the same time, be a part of it. In my five years of teaching, I have so many wonderful memories of the times and places that I have shared with my students, and, most importantly, I have been able to take something away from those moments as well.

If I can leave you with nothing else, please remember this: If you don’t think you can, you won’t. If you think you can, you might. And if you know you can, you will.

Mr. Unglaub (Mr. “U”)

Former business and marketing teacher
