Money for nothing: Craig police report string of counterfeit bills
The Craig Police Department is asking citizens to be on the lookout for counterfeit money being passed around Northwest Colorado.
A Wednesday news release from law enforcement cautioned that officers have received recent reports of fraudulent $20 and $100 bills.
“The notes we have reports on are missing watermarks, color-changing ink, and holographic strips,” according to the release.
Additionally, the questionable bills had “distinctive stamped markings, slightly blurry printing, and a distressed printer paper feel.”
Anyone who suspects a counterfeit bill is asked to contact CPD at 970-824-8111.
The body recovered from a drowning at Harvey Gap Reservoir has been identified.
