Moffat County school board action items from Dec. 20 meeting
Craig — The board:
•Received a report from district technology director Marlene Knez and Matt Hammer, a senior account manager from Information Systems Consulting. The report proposed district-wide technology updates and identified three district technology needs: increased bandwidth, updated infrastructure and a new phone system. Knez, speaking on behalf of a committee researching the district’s technology needs, recommended Quest Telecommunications as Internet provider and ISC to install required infrastructure. The upgrades are part of a $29.5 million bond issue voters passed for district capital improvements.
•Awarded a design/build contract to The Neenan Company, an integrated design/build firm. The firm will design and construct a new middle school. The price of the contract has not been decided.
•Awarded technology upgrade contracts to the following firms: Unite Private Networks, $88,704 per year for 10 years; Quest Telecommunications, $51,840 per year for three years. The Federal Communications Commission will reimburse the district for 61 percent of these contract costs.
•Awarded $923,624 contract to Information Consulting Systems for district technology upgrades
•Adopted a supplemental revised 2007-08 district budget, which includes a new account from which the district will pay for district-wide capital improvements.
