Name: Vicky Slaight

Occupation: Administrative assistant for the Craig Rural Fire Protection District on Yampa Avenue.

When and why did you move to Craig? I moved here with my family from upstate New York when I was 15.

Who is your hero and why? My husband of 26 years, Doug, is my hero. He makes me happy, and he’s always been dependable.

Most rewarding part of living in Moffat County? I love being able to spend time outdoors, and Moffat County is perfect for that. It’s so fun to go dirt bike riding and to drive around in the mountains to the north and east of Craig.

What is the one thing you would change about your life if you could? I would make more time for myself and my family.

What is the one thing you would change about Moffat County if you could? I would like to see the county grow just a little faster.

What’s the one thing about Moffat County that you hope never changes? I hope the people here never lose their caring nature. It’s really a great community.

Favorite food? Spaghetti! Anytime, anywhere.

Favorite band/singer? I really like listening to Toby Keith.

Favorite book? “Who Moved My Cheese” by Spencer Johnson.

Favorite pet?

We’ve had so many during over the past few years, I just can’t pick a favorite.

Favorite vacation spot? Hahn’s Peak in Steamboat. It is beautiful up there.

Favorite activity in Craig? I love taking walks in my neighborhood and in the numerous parks in this area.
