Moffat County High School soccer players kick it for good cause

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

Moffat County High School soccer players Ulises Silva and Kaylynn Haefs recently participated in All-Star games of the Emily Johnson Play-It-Forward Soccer Tournament last week at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs.

The event honors the memory of former Coal Ridge High School athlete Johnson, who passed away in 2008, and it raises funds for students of the area.

All-Star rosters are open to all soccer players representing 3A and 4A Western Slope schools who have been selected as All-Conference during the past season.

Silva received First Team honors this past fall as a member of the boys varsity team, while Haefs was Second Team following the girls’ spring season.

There were five total Bulldogs eligible for the tourney, though not all were available to compete.

Forward Delaney Baker was also All-Conference First Team, while goaltenders Hannah Walker and Alex Arellano were each Second Team.
