Moffat County golfers tee up in Rifle, Glenwood Springs to start week

The Moffat County High School girls golf team has had a lot of drive in the past week.

Most recently, the ladies of the links played in the Rifle Invitational Tuesday at Rifle Creek Golf Course, the team gaining ninth place out of 10 with a group score of 347.

Katelyn Peroulis led the team, shooting 106 for the day, followed by Tané Otis with a 111 and Jaci McDiffett rounding out the qualifying scores with 130.

Also playing in Rifle on behalf of MCHS were Makayla Thompson, 142, and Julia Christensen, 144.

On Monday, the team traveled to Glenwood Springs to compete in the smaller Demon Invitational at Ironbridge Golf Course. Moffat County finished fifth of six with a total score of 348, led by Peroulis with a 105.

Peroulis placed 10th individually in Glenwood and also ranked seventh and shot 100 during the Dinaland Invitational, held the past Thursday in Vernal, Utah, where the team took fifth at 483.

MCHS golfers will next play April 24 at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale for an event hosted by Aspen. The following week on April 27 will be their home tournament at Yampa Valley Golf Course.
