Recently, Colorado State High School Activities Association named the All-State track and field teams, and five Moffat County High School runners were on the list.

Kayla Pinnt, Lauren Samuelson, Emma Samuelson, Ary Shaffer and Selena Hernandez were given All-State distinctions for their championship efforts this season.

Pinnt and the Samuelsons were each part of the 4×100- and 4×200-meter relays, both of which finished in first place at the state championships in May. Hernandez was the fourth leg of the 4×100 and Shaffer the final component of the 4×200.

Pinnt also claimed wins in both the 100 and 200 dash, retaining her title as state champ and breaking her own school record in each. CHSAA also named her 3A girls Athlete of the Year in the sport, and she is one of only six athletes, boy or girl, in all divisions to receive four separate gold medals this season.
