Moffat County emergency officials prep school district for disaster scenario

A newly designed mass casualty drill took place Thursday at Moffat County High School.

The drill allowed for Moffat County officials and the high school to test how it would react to a mass casualty situation at the school.

Moffat County resources — including Emergency Medical Services, Craig Fire/Rescue, Craig Police Department and more — gave the Moffat County School District an opportunity to exercise its lockdown procedures and protocols.

The district is developing a series of programs and procedures for each school building to maintain the safety and security of all students, staff and public in the event of an emergency.

Any questions can be directed to Tom Soos, Moffat County emergency manager, at 970-824-9153.
