Moffat County coroner announces bid for re-election
CRAIG — Moffat County Coroner Kirk McKey is running for re-election to a third term. Noting his seven years as coroner, McKey said he is proud of his office’s frugality in light of the slimming county budget and a smooth transition in moving the coroner’s office to the Moffat County Courthouse from Grant Mortuary and Crematory.
“I just want to continue like we’ve done the last seven years,” McKey said. “We’re always looking for ways to operate more efficiently, and we’re always keeping service to Moffat County at a very respectable level.”
McKey said his team has saved the county money by implementing web-based reporting and electronic record keeping. Using this technology allows McKey to do a lot of the work himself with a “very limited staff.”
“I’m honored to be a servant for these last seven years,” he said.
