Moffat County commissioner May 27 meeting recap
At their regular Tuesday meeting, Moffat County commissioners:
• Approved, 3-0, the special events permit for the Craig Chamber of Commerce beer garden at Whittle the Wood.
• Voted, 3-0, in favor of supporting the Stronger Economies Together regional plan presented by Audrey Danner. The plan was compiled by cooperating agencies in Moffat, Routt and Rio Blanco counties. This regional long-term plan will help the region focus on common and overlapping goals, Danner said. County commissioners expressed concern about the plan being redundant and costly. But Danner said the plan effectively would coordinate efforts and that the strategizing would not cost the county anything.
• Discussed with Danner the Rural Colorado Entrepreneurship Marketplace on June 13 that will bring entrepreneurs and small-business owners to Craig for a conference to educate them about the best ways to get a business going and keep it going. Chamber Director Chris Oxley said they expected 150 people to attend the conference.
• Approved, 3-0, a new no pets policy that means pets will not be allowed within county facilities anymore.
9:02 a.m. On the 1000 block of Sage Court, community services personnel in Craig responded to a code enforcement call. A resident was issued a verbal warning for a code violation.
