Moffat County Commissioner June 2 recap
At their regular weekly meeting, Moffat County commissioners:
• Discussed the Yampa Valley Data Partners Community Indicator Report with Keith Kramer, director of YVDP. Kramer said the indicator numbers showed a positive trend in many areas. Moffat County is livable for families and the unemployment rates remain low. But the population hasn’t increased and only is getting older, Kramer said. The community should attract more population, he said. But considering the financial challenges over the years, the county has done well. “Over the long haul, Moffat County has weathered the storm pretty well,” he said.
• Discussed the release of retainage with Anson Excavating for the Maybell wastewater treatment facility project with Moffat County Director of Development Services Roy Tipton. Tipton also said that the Shadow Mountain construction, which will upgrade the subdivisions water/sewer pipes and roads, will break ground Tuesday.
