The seventh annual Moffat County Balloon Festival lifts off this weekend with a multitude of activities at Loudy-Simpson Park.

With launches scheduled for early Saturday and Sunday morning, 24 balloons will head up, up and away, adding a rainbow of color to the skies, as well as adding a flash of brightness Saturday night during the evening balloon glow.

Saturday will also be full of activities throughout the day including the Elevate Education 5K Run/Walk and One-Mile Fun Run; family activities like a magician, face painting, Bernie Rose Story Hour, wagon rides, a pie-eating contest and a money pit; the Colorado State Over the Line Championship; paddleboard races; Colorado Cruisers Car Show; live music by country singer Bill Clark and 1980s tribute act Steve Thomas Band; and more.

Admission is free, and participants are asked to contribute canned goods for St. Michael’s Community Kitchen.
