MCSD Whiteboard: A season of gratitude

Cuyler Meade
MCSD Whiteboard

There’s never a wrong time to be grateful, but it’s always extra timely around the season of Thanksgiving. So let’s give thanks.

This school year is off to an incredible start. We’ve been blessed to celebrate a ton, including fantastic academic improvement in our schools, a new gym at our high school, excellent work from students and staff across the board, and a ton of community connection. There is so much good to come.

We’re thankful here for so much. Thankful to live in Moffat County, for starters, where it’s beautiful in every direction and the people are still the best part. We love this place, and we hope whoever you are reading this loves it too.

One of the many wonderful things about living here is the opportunity we have to build together. So much is happening here right now, and Moffat County is undeniably in a time of transition. It’s exciting to look to the future with hope and inspiration while looking to the past with pride and gratitude. We can take who we are and what we have here and build upon a strong foundation toward something new and good. It will take all of us, and it’s going to be great.

We’re thankful for those people who are building. We’re thankful for parents, grandparents, business owners, and community leaders. You hold us accountable, demand the best, and contribute in ways you don’t always recognize.

It’s so critical to have that support as we as a school district and we as a community continue to grow. We need your hands and your ideas, we need your effort and your voice, and we need your belief and your vision. Together we’re going to make this school district into what this community needs it to be in order to thrive together.

We’re thankful for our teachers, our staff, our administration, and especially our students. The effort and spirit evident in classrooms and workspaces across the district is undeniable. Students are learning, growing, and being shown that anything is possible.

Together, district teams are getting better and better at doing what we do, and it’s paying off in classroom learning opportunities. The better we do our jobs, the better a student’s chance to grow is, and we take that extremely seriously.

Every opportunity we get to improve, we take it, and we’re working hard to create more and more of those opportunities. Our students deserve the best, and we’re working to become the best.

We’re thankful for what has been done before us, including by many who are still among us. We’re grateful to have that strong foundation, to have good direction, and to have energy and inspiration to spare as we grow toward our ultimate destination.

We are becoming great, Moffat County, and we’re doing it because you deserve it. You need us to be great. We are working hard to be what you need, because, as we said, this time in this place demands it.

Give thanks, Moffat County. It’s a great place to be, and a great time to be here.
