Mary Nelson: Wrong message for city

To the editor:

I am totally appalled and can not find words to express my thoughts on the outcome of Mr. Reina’s bid for a seat on the City Council. I think Jane Hume’s comments coincide with mine. We are not alone in our opinions; many citizens are outraged.

Two wrongs do not make a right, in this case, 6-0.

The little guy, a good upstanding citizen of Craig, who has done so much and asked for as little in return, facing criminal charges. I read one member on the council said what if it were me or you on this board.

Well, I hope that under the first amendment and our Constitution, that he too would be protected. (I truly believe Mr. Reina’s rights and protection have been violated).

All he tried to do was be involved and help all he could for the citizens of Craig.

What kind of message is this for the youths of our city?

Mary Nelson
