Mary Jo Brown: Summer is really here

Mary Jo Brown

Between rain showers, people braved the crowd and the weather this weekend for the car show, Whittle the Wood and celebrating Father’s Day, weddings and birthdays, etc.

Then along came the first day of summer, which also is the longest day of the year, known as the summer solstice.

Now, summer is really here.

I have birthdays for Reba Wilson, Helen Dobbin, Hilda Schmidt, Arroughn Van Grandt, Dorothy Bailey, Eloise Dailey and Jean Muchume.

Get well/speedy recovery wishes to Mary Deathridge, Shane Armstrong, Rogelis Camacho and Betty Rice.

The McDonald’s senior breakfast is Wednesday.

Preserving the Last Frontier meets at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Meadows I.

The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I.

See you there.
