Mary Jo Brown: Old Man Winter

Senior spotlight

Old Man Winter is creeping up on us, so I’m digging out heavier duds. I have mitts, flannels and earmuffs. Who could ask for anything more?

Look out the window. See that wind blow? Where’s my jacket – looks like it’s going to snow.

In the meantime, I have birthdays. Happy Birthday to my great-granddaughter, Jennifer Miller Van Grandt, Millie Bilsing and Harriet Decker.

A get well and a speedy recovery to Dana Uncapher, Jim Rogers, Phyllis Smith, Tristan Villard, Dorothy Chivington, Michelle McGruder and Mabel Gossen.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary meeting is 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at VFW Post 4265 in Craig. We need more ladies (including me) present. All veterans’ spouses and ladies come see and hear what we do.

On Friday, there will a potluck at noon and then bingo at Sunset Meadows. Seniors are welcome to join in the fun of both.

Speaking of both, I better get back to digging for my other winter mitten.
