Mary Jo Brown: Fall is a time to get things done

Autumn is a time to get things done, like fixing things and reading for winter. Get the ladder out and fix whatever. Ladders of all sizes are like our lives: The ups and downs change.

So we learn to use the right ladder, depending on the change we want to make, hope it works not only in the change of the size of the ladder, but in our lives, as well. The rungs in my ladder of life tend to break or be slippery at times.

But, I manage to get to the top eventually, one step at a time.

So it is with birthdays. We have them one at a time this week. I have Catherine Deitz, Irma Knutson, Shannon Arthur, Gene Murphy and Katherine Mullis.

Get well/speedy recovery to Sue Thompson, Jane Seiloff, Karen Prince and all of you in the hospital or at home.

A diabetes meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at Sunset Meadows No. 1. All are welcome. The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows No. 1. Come join us.
