Margaret Culverwell: A caring community
To the editor:
Christmas for Seniors was very busy this year, as 416 senior citizens benefited from this year’s program.
Whether you are the person who stopped by the Holiday Drive and donated or the person who removed an angel ornament from the trees at Kmart or Murdoch’s and purchased a gift, I thank all of you.
Many seniors in our county will enjoy a Merry Christmas knowing their community cares about them because of people like you.
A warm thank you to all of the women who made and donated numerous beautifully colored quilts. A warm thank you also to the lady with a big heart who made and donated the wonderful shawls.
I’d like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers who helped me for hours upon hours sorting, wrapping and delivering gifts to seniors.
I’d like to thank Kmart and Murdoch’s for allowing us to put up the Christmas trees and collect gifts for the seniors every year. Both seniors and children benefit from the generosity of those shoppers who participated.
It’s difficult to find the words to thank KRAI and their staff for everything they do. The Holiday Drive takes months of preparation. Each year, they continue to raise thousands of dollars in cash and thousands of dollars in gift donations for the people in Moffat County.
They deserve recognition for their incredible efforts and the outstanding job they do with and for the Holiday Drive. Frank and Tammie have big hearts and are extremely caring people. A sincere thank you to the both of you for everything you do.
It never ceases to amaze me how caring and giving Moffat County is each year around the holiday season.
