Man stacks tires to enter apartment : On the Record — Aug. 2

12:38 a.m. On the 300 block of Elmwood Street, officers investigated a report of vandalism. A caller reported a pickup truck had been damaged with a permanent marker.
2:07 a.m. On the 600 block of Pershing Street, a caller reported a man attempting to break into an apartment by stacking tires to gain entry through a window. When officers arrived, they contacted the owner, who had given the man permission to be in the apartment. The man did not have a key to enter through the door.
4:35 a.m. At the intersection of Mack Lane and Industrial Avenue, a caller reported a damaged meter box.
2:03 p.m. At the intersection of Elmwood and Sage streets, officers discovered a vehicle with its door open. Officers contacted the owner and learned children had left the door open.

2:46 p.m. On the 2000 block of Victory Way, officers issued a trespassing notice to a woman for suspected shoplifting.
3:34 p.m. In Craig, officers served an arrest warrant on a juvenile male.
4:34 p.m. On the 500 block of Green Street, a caller reported a hit-and-run crash and saw a vehicle leaving the scene. Officers located the vehicle and issued two citations to the driver.
6:08 p.m. At an apartment complex in Craig, officers responded to a report of an assault and arrested a 33-year-old woman from Craig.
