Man allegedly fights officers after caught trying to steal beer, tent and washer fluid: On the record Feb. 25-26

Sunday Feb. 25
2:48 a.m. Officers responded to an incident involving a juvenile in the city.
10:16 a.m. In the area of the intersection of West Sixth and School streets, officers responded to a report of domestic violence. A man reportedly knocked a woman down. Officers investigated and found no crime.
12:02 p.m. At Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply, officers responded to a report of a person who was not allowed to purchase a firearm attempting to purchase one. The person was flagged by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation database. The incident is under investigation.
2:36 p.m. On the 500 block of First Avenue, officers arrested a 52-year-old woman. She was charged with third degree assault and first-degree trespass. A female victim said she entered her home without permission and assaulted her. The parties had a previous dispute.
4:15 p.m. On the 500 block of Seventh Avenue West, officers mediated a dispute between a mother and her adult child.
11:38 p.m. Officers received a report of a suspicious man near Stockman’s Liquor. Officers found two people in the area, but after speaking to them found no crime.
Monday Feb. 26
5:45 a.m. Officers responded to mental health issue in the city.
9:09 a.m. On the 500 block of West Eighth Avenue, officers responded to a report of harassment. A caller wanted to speak with officers about a party allegedly stalking her. The investigation is ongoing.
12:42 p.m. On the 500 block of Ledford Street, officers responded to a suspicious incident. A person was wandering around vehicles parked at Sunset Meadows II. Officers spoke to the person. Nothing was disturbed, and no crime was found.
1:32 p.m. On the 500 block of East Third Street, officers received a report of female outside a residence yelling.
5:11 p.m. In Craig, officers mediated a dispute between a mother and son.
7 p.m. On the 700 block of Rose Street, officers responded to a report of trespassing. A drunken man reportedly wouldn’t leave a residence at which he was unwelcome. Officers got the man to leave for the night. The man was on probation. He received no additional charges at this time, but received a probation notification.
7:58 p.m. At Walmart, officers responded to a reported theft. A man allegedly tried to take windshield washer fluid, a tent and a 6-pack of beer. When officers arrived, he began to fight them. The 57-year old man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on officers, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and theft of items with a value between $50 and $300.
8:13 p.m. On the 1400 block of West Victory Way, a person reported two males were in the garage. The men fled to a vehicle, and the caller was able to get their license plate number. Nothing was reported missing. The incident is under investigation.
