Luke and Michelle Tucker: Vote for Derek Duran
To the editor:
Albert Einstein said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”
Our community is facing some extremely difficult economic hurdles.
■ The threat of new and costly regulations on the coal industry.
■ A school district and community that fail to find common ground, which is a concern for anyone considering relocating to Craig.
■ The potential “endangered” listing of the sage grouse, which is very damaging to our energy and agriculture industries.
■ Less tax revenue and rising costs of services.
■ The list goes on.
With forward looking leaders we have the opportunity to positively impact the future of Craig, Colorado. We no longer have the luxury of looking to the economic recoveries of the past and hoping that history repeats itself.
We support Derek Duran in the race for Craig City Council. Derek has all of the integrity, character and optimism to effectively lead Craig in the right direction. Knowing Derek for his entire life, I’ve come to know a man that is thoughtful, kind and a natural leader. Derek’s competitive spirit has driven him to excel in athletics, academics and private business. All attributes that will help him become successful in helping to lead our community forward.
Derek has the ability to listen and build relationships that will help him to solve the issues we are facing. His dedication to our city will be a great asset that we as a community should capitalize on. Please join us in supporting Derek Duran for Craig City Council. Help him lead Craig forward in a positive direction.
