Lois Stoffle: Thanks Calvary Baptist

To the editor:

Those wonderful folks from the Calvary Baptist Church were at it again! At what, you ask? Well, they were at Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehab on Valentine’s Day, and they sure put on a party for the residents!

The ladies of Calvary Baptist outdid themselves with a beautifully arranged table of homemade goodies for the Valentine’s party. Cookies, cupcakes, candy, fudge, dipped pretzels — oh, what to sample first? Decisions, decisions! After the Valentine king and queen were crowned, the ladies busied themselves serving the residents and guests from that decadent table.

The Calvary Baptist School children also got into the act. They had lovely, handmade valentine cards for each of the residents and had filled cute valentine sacks with goodies and a little stuffed animal! What fun the residents had opening their sacks and comparing their stuffed animals. And what better than chocolates to accompany those stuffed animals!

The folks at Calvary Baptist Church go out of their way several times each year showing their respect, caring attitude and love for the residents at Sandrock. They come and visit, bring treats and gifts, but mostly, they give of themselves, spending their personal time making everyone at Sandrock feel so special!

Thank you so much to the congregation of the Calvary Baptist Church — you are God’s special angels doing His work. God bless you all.
