Lois Stoffle: Help Craig concerts
To the editor:
The Craig Concert Association is looking for a few folks to join our board.
At our meeting of Jan. 18, we noted that we had two vacancies. As you may know, the Craig Concert Board is responsible for bringing top notch entertainment to the Yampa Valley at least four times every the year. The board meets with Allied Concert representatives and previews as many as 20 different artist selections via DVD and then makes the selections for the coming year based on talent, variety and common interest. These various selections come with quite a cost and we are fortunate to have the support of local businesses and community members who donate to help bring the concerts here to Craig. We are also fortunate that we have been able to keep the price of a member ticket at a minimum. We have the best bargain for entertainment in the valley!
During our meeting we discussed our upcoming Spring Kick-Off Dinner to be held in May and appointed a committee to take care of the preparations for it. One of our board members, Liane Davis-Kling, offered to host some of our meetings at her bookstore. This offer met with delight from the attending members.
So if you are interested in becoming a board member, please contact Arloa Gerber at 970-824-3396. You do not have to have any special talent to be a board member, you just have to be able and willing to enjoy great entertainment. And remember, our next concert presenting “Todd Oliver and Friends” is at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the high school auditorium.
