Local groups partner for rare comet viewing event on Feb. 2

The Friends of Natural History and astronomy classes from Colorado Northwestern Community College will be hosting an event at the college from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, to view a once-in-a-lifetime comet as it passes near Earth.

Along with the rare opportunity to view a nearby comet, there will also be a telescope, snacks, and door prizes offered to everyone who attends. Event organizers said the event is “BYOB,” or bring your own binoculars.
