letter: Remember pet safety during summer months

To the editor:

It’s that time of year again, so please remember that “a matter of minutes, five or 10 minutes, is all it takes on a hot day for a dog to wind up organ-damaged or dead.”

Please educate your friends and neighbors and be an advocate for dogs left in hot cars this summer. If you’re worried about an animal and you can’t find the owners, call the police.

Please leave your pets at home where they can be cool, safe, and comfortable.

The bed of a truck is super hot as well — try standing in there with your bare feet.
