Letter: Health insurance mandates infringe freedom of religion

To the editor:

How do you like living under a dictator?

Barack Obama has just decided that any business or institution that provides insurance must pay for abortion drugs, contraceptive services, and sterilization, whether these services go against the religious principles of these entities or not.

His “accommodation” because of the instant outrage of Americans against this nullification of our right to freedom of religion was nothing more than a cover-up.

The corrupt policy is still in place.

Our president pays no attention to the people nor to our Constitution, which he swore to uphold.

So much for his truthfulness. He is driving hard to do as much as he can to grab all the control he can get.

Someone has to stop him.

Here’s something you can do: write or call senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and urge them to vote for Sen. Roy Blunt’s Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (S.1467).

It is co-sponsored by Marco Rubio and others. At least some men are trying to stop the Obama steamroller.

Let’s help them.

The number to call for Udall is (202) 224-5941. For Bennet, call (202) 224-5852.

All you have to do is say to the person on the phone that you want the senator to support S.1467.

It’s not hard, and it puts pressure right where it belongs, especially if enough of us care enough to do something. There is strength in numbers.

Remember, “Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.”
