Letter: Cast and Blast event a success
To the editor:
Wyman Museum was full of fishing and shooting events July 1.
More than 70 participants showed up family-style for the activities and free barbecue lunch cooked up by Northwest Colorado Outfitters.
Fly-fishing and bait-fishing was good as most bagged at least a fish or two throughout the day.
Families shot .22 rifles and archery during the day, some for the very first time.
Local resident Howdy Davis also showed how mountain men lived in the area.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife hosts the event to introduce folks to outdoor sports and includes instruction from local officers and CPW staff.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife would like to sincerely thank the following sponsors for their support of the 2012 Family Cast and Blast: the Yampa Valley Chapter of Safari Club International, Northwest Colorado Outfitters Association, Wyman Museum, Northwest Ready Mix, Brothers Meats, and Boy-Ko Supply.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife would also like to thank Craig Daily Press and KRAI for promoting the event.
The event would not have been a success without all of you.
Mike Swaro
