Letter: 4H Club Silver Slingers coaches a great influence
To the editor:
When your child is born you pray the people who influence him will always be positive.
I have known coaches who only belittle children, bring them down and only encourage if they are winning.
But the coaches I really want you to know are nothing like that. They are the leaders for the Moffat County 4H Club Silver Slingers, Shawn and Sarah Polly.
These two coaches have been exactly the type of people I prayed would be influences on my son’s life. They encourage, they counsel, they listen, they teach and they love. They love archery, they love life and they love to teach.
If you have never had the opportunity to meet the Polly’s you should make it a point.
Shawn and Sarah we want you to know how very much you mean to the people you have touched. We want to thank you for all you have done for our child and so many others.
We appreciate your selflessness and guidance for both the kids and the parents. Congrats on a job well done getting the kids to the Colorado State Archery Shoot this year and giving them what they needed to bring home the ribbons.
Moffat County Archery is on the map because of you.
Thank you Again.
A young Florida woman who traveled to Colorado and bought a shotgun for what authorities feared would be a Columbine-inspired attack just days ahead of the 20th anniversary was found dead Wednesday in an apparent suicide after a nearly 24-hour manhunt.
