Ladies Auxilary holding poppy sale

The poppy sale for the Ladies Auxiliary at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 kicks off Wednesday.

Ladies Auxiliary President Dora Watson will be selling the small, paper flowers on a wire stem in front of City Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Poppies are available for a donation of whatever people can spare.

“People can put a penny in, or 10 cents, or whatever,” Watson said.

The Ladies Auxiliary distributed 2,500 poppies last year.

Having a poppy, Watson said, shows people support veterans. The money raised from the poppies goes to the VFW’s relief fund for veterans.
