Kmart earns place in book of world records

The Craig Kmart store will make history at 9 a.m. Tuesday when it joins 2,152 other Kmart stores in a nationwide anniversary celebration commemorating 100 years of business.

Associates across the nation will participate in a satellite broadcast celebration, earning recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest anniversary celebration and cake-cutting ceremony ever.

At the celebration, Kmart will also give a million-dollar thank you to associates by unveiling the Kmart Legacy Scholarship Fund.

“Kmart is proud of our 100-year retail legacy and our dedicated team of associates,” Craig store manager Jake Zakrzewski said. “We look forward to bringing the best in quality, value and convenience to the billions of customers we’ll serve in the century ahead.”
