Khara Ann Mahlum: Scare tactics from churches won’t work

To the Editor,

This letter is in response to an ad I happened to view in the Craig Daily Press on May 6. The ad was for the Yampa Valley Baptist Church. It stated: The only sin that will send you to hell is not believing what Jesus did for you, and for everyone in the whole wide world.”

Good try on the brainwashing technique, Yampa Valley Baptist Church! I hope that you accomplished your goal and had half of Craig quaking in their shoes. I, on the other hand, would think that if Jesus is so forgiving, you won’t go to hell based on your opinions or beliefs. Scare tactics, if you recall, were very popular with world leaders, such as Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao, etc. Catch my drift?
