1940-2002

Kathleen R. (Delliquadri) Patti of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at United Medical Center West. She was 62.



Patti was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Pueblo, Colo., and had lived in Cheyenne for 27 years. She had lived in Safford, Ariz., CaCity, Colo., and Craig.

She was born, raised, married and attended public schools in Pueblo.



Patti was a 1958 graduate of Pueblo Central High School and a 1960 psychology major graduate of Pueblo College.

She stayed busy following her husband’s career with the Bureau of Land Management, raising her three sons and daughter and with her own teaching career.

From 1964 through 1966 in Craig, she was active in the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, Jayceettes and was a part-time society editor for the local newspaper.

From 1967 to 1971 in CaCity, she was again active in Jayceettes and her sorority, completed her BA in psychology and elementary education at Southern Colorado State College at Pueblo and taught kindergarten at Lafe Nelson Elementary School.

From 1971 to 1975 in Safford, Ariz., Patti initiated the kindergarten program in Safford public school system, taught kindergarten and was active in the Safford Little League Baseball Auxiliary.

From 1995 to 2002 in Cheyenne, Patti was active in the Babe Ruth Baseball Auxiliary, completed her MA degree in early childhood education through the Leslie College of Boston outreach program and taught second grade and kindergarten at Corlett Elementary School for 26 years.

Patti was head teacher for several years at Corlett and was an inspiration to her students, fellow educators and co-workers. She was a champion for children and the high quality of their education and was a pillar of strength to her family and to all who knew her.

Patti was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Alpha Kappa Gamma, National Education Association, Wyoming Education Association, Cheyenne Teacher’s Education Association and La Familia Italiana in Pueblo.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Patty, Jr., of Cheyenne; sons, Kurt A. (Kellie) Patti, of Towanda, Ill., Scott J. (Priscilla A.) Patti, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Marc A. (Peg) Patti, of Fort Collins; daughter, Jo Lyn (Tom) Jordan, of Cheyenne, and grandchildren, Justin Patti, Megan Patti, Anthony Patti, Chelsea Patti, Matthew Patti, Nicholas Patti, Cody Patty, Samantha Jordan and Ralph Jordan.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Josephine Delliquadri.

A vigil was held Aug. 4 at Wiederspahan-Radomski Chapel of the Chimes.

A funeral liturgy was Aug. 5 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Gary Ruzicka as the celebrant.

Interment followed in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were John Mulay, Thomas Jordan, Justin Patti, Anthony Patti, Charles Patty and Dominic Patti.

Honorary pallbearers were Carl Mulay, Nicholas Patti, Matthew Patti, Cody Patti, Megan Patti, Chelsea Patti, samantha Jordan and Ralph Jordan.
