Johnny Ford named as SHAPE Elementary PE Teacher of the Year

The Colorado Society of Health and Physical Education has named Moffat County School District physical education teacher Johnny Ford as the recipient of the SHAPE Colorado Elementary School Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award for 2024.
The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated continuous dedication to the advocacy and enhancement of student learning in physical education in the state of Colorado.
Ford is a physical education instructor at Sunset Elementary and will be presented with the award at a dinner on Oct. 7 at the SHAPE Colorado Convention in Denver.
The National Teacher of the Year Program is a three-tiered program through SHAPE America.
Individuals who are named Teacher of the Year by their state affiliate are eligible for SHAPE Americas District Teacher of the Year award. District winners are eligible for the national award.
