John Pogline: Pot debate goes further than money

To the editor,To the editor,

To the editor,

Once again, Craigites and Moffatites are being bombarded with the purely speculative numbers of the pot legalization hopefuls. Now it is more than a hundred jobs. My wife agrees that it will enlarge our law enforcement agencies, increase our medical/hospital staff, employ more emergency services personnel and increase our mortuary business. And maybe Craig can start its own drug rehabilitation center.

It has been said that we should not look at the moral side of legalizing pot but look at how much money we can make. What kind of a message would we adults and elected officials be sending to our young? Money, money and more money. What’s next? Legalizing cocaine, smack, meth and LSD? Is our society most interested in monetary gain that what’s right?
