John E. Husband: Field manager, Little Snake Field Office, BLM

Thank you to everyone who turned out to help us celebrate the opening of our new Little Snake Field Office and Northwest Colorado Fire Center office building Thursday. The celebration far exceeded my expectations, and everyone I spoke with said they thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was great to see so many friends and neighbors who showed up take part in the festivities.

I specifically want to recognize a few of those who contributed to the open house. The Craig Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber Ambassadors who co-sponsored the open house and arranged for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Girl Scout Troop 49 who performed a flag raising ceremony and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Moffat County High School Band who played “The Star-Spangled Banner” during the flag raising and a number of other patriotic songs. The Yampa Valley Brass who entertained everyone with a variety of music. Our neighbor Tim Bohne, at Tire Distribution Systems, who contributed a food tray. And of course, all the BLM employees who planned, decorated, conducted tours and helped in so many ways to make the event a huge success.

I invite anyone who missed the open house but would like to see the new facility to stop in for a visit. We are very proud of the new building and would be glad to show you around.

Sincerely,

John E. Husband
